The British Museum is one of the world’s greatest cultural institutions, housing an astonishing collection of exceptional and ancient treasures from every chapter of history.
The Museum has four main shops- The Great Court Shop, The Book Shop, The Collections Shop and The Grenville Room and each shop design required a unique look aimed at their multiple target markets.
A modular system was created which could be adapted, with the use of colour and materials, to differentiate them. A highly flexible merchandise system was designed to cater for the wide range of products being retailed to visitors throughout the Museum. It successfully merchandises everything from pocket money toys in the Family Store through to high-end jewellery in the Grenville Room.
